3 semesters into my Fashion Marketing program, I notice that I use a lot of complicated terms in my field of study that are not necessarily known. A lot of terms about marketing, social media, consumers and fashion. I'm making this glossary to help someone who's starting in this field and want to be prepared to learn!

- A form of transaction between businesses, such as one involving a manufacturer and wholesaler, or a wholesaler and a retailer.
- b2c

- Commerce between a business and an individual consumer.
- blacklash

- A strong and adverse reaction by a large number of people, especially to a social or political development.
- brand identity

- Brand identity is the visible elements of a brand, such as color, design, and logo, that identify and distinguish the brand in consumers' minds.
- brand image

- The impression of a product held by real or potential consumers.
- buyer

- A person employed to select and purchase stock or materials for a large retail or manufacturing business.
- engagement rate
- phrase
- A metric often used to track how actively involved with your content your audience is and how effective your brand campaigns are. Engaged consumers interact with brands through interactions such as “likes,” comments and social sharing.
- greenwashing

- Disinformation disseminated by an organization so as to present an environmentally responsible public image.
- influencer

- A person with the ability to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social media.
- management

- The process of dealing with or controlling things or people.
- market

- A demand for a particular commodity or service.
- marketing mix

- A combination of factors that can be controlled by a company to influence consumers to purchase its products.
- marketing plan

- An operational document that outlines an advertising strategy that an organization will implement to generate leads and reach its target market.
- persona

- A semi-fictional representation of your ideal customer based on market research and real data about your existing customers.
- pestel

- An acronym for a tool used to identify the macro (external) forces facing an organisation. The letters stand for Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental and Legal.
- public relations

- The professional maintenance of a favorable public image by a company or other organization or a famous person.
- segmentation

- Division into separate parts or sections.
- social movement
- phrase
- A number of people organized and coordinated to achieve some task or a collection of goals, often the participants are interested in bringing about social change.

- A general direction in which something is developing or changing.
